Profile
Dr. Isaac Kazungu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Business Management. He holds a Diploma in Education (Physics & Mathematics) from Klerruu College of National Education, a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) of the University of Dar es Salaam (2008), a Master of Science in Marketing Management of Mzumbe University (2011) and Ph.D Entrepreneurship of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (2018). He has a working experience of 14 years as an academician, researcher and consultant. Kazungu’s areas of interest and competence include Business Planning, Marketing Research, International Marketing, Enterprise Development, Corporate Strategic Planning, Business Research Methods, Sustainable livelihoods, and Project impact evaluations. His key academic career roles are teaching, research and consultancy. To date, Kazungu has made several scholarly contributions, including 3 co-authored books, 28 journal articles, two conference papers and six book reviews. In addition, Kazungu has supervised and examined over 16 postgraduate and numerous undergraduate research works. Furthermore, he has served for more than ten years in university leadership in the capacities of examination coordinator in the Faculty of Business and Information Sciences (FBIS), Coordinator-Co-operative Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre (CEIC), Head of the Research and Publication Department, training officer, Acting Director Bureau of Consultancy Services (BCS) and currently, Director Kizumbi Institute of Co-operative and Business Education (KICoB). He has also participated in the implementation of the LUNA research project in five (5) African Countries (Botswana, Cameroun, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Tanzania) and Germany from 2009 to 2012, Participated in an Advocacy research project titled “Coffee Price and Sustainability of Agricultural Marketing Co-operatives in Mbozi and Rombo Districts, Tanzania” supported by BEST – D in 2016. He has also participated in a research project titled “Sustainability of Agriculture Marketing Co-operatives in Misungwi, Rombo and Arumeru Districts in Tanzania”, funded by BEST – D in 2014-2015. Dr. Kazungu is now part of the team implementing the SUSIE research project [Sustainable Employability through HEI’s Innovative Pedagogy], which involves four universities i.e. Turku University of Applied Sciences, Tumaini University Dar es Salaam College, Moshi Co-operative University and Mwenge Catholic University. Dr. Kazungu has over twelve years of Consultancy experience in areas allied to Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Business Planning, Corporate Strategic Planning, Business Development Services, Lobbying and advocacy, and training in Marketing of agricultural products, Entrepreneurship and Co-operative business management.
