Dr. Odax Manumbu Lawrence is a Senior Lecturer, consultant, and researcher at the Kizumbi Institute of Co-operative and Business Education (KICoB), a constituent of Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU). He holds a PhD in Education from Moshi Co-operative University, a Master of Arts in Education (MAED), and a Bachelor of Arts in Education (BAED), both from the University of Dar es Salaam. Dr. Odax began his academic career in November 2014 as a Tutorial Assistant. He was promoted to Assistant Lecturer in January 2016, advanced to Lecturer in July 2021, and attained the rank of Senior Lecturer in July 2024. His academic journey has been marked by a strong commitment to teaching, research, and knowledge dissemination.
In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Odax plays a key role in institutional governance and community service. Since March 2025, he has been serving as the Risk Management Champion at KICoB. He also chairs the Strategic Plan Implementation Team at KICoB, a position he has held since December 2023. Furthermore, since May 2023, he has represented academic staff on the Workers’ Board of Moshi Co-operative University. Dr. Odax has been the Sports and Recreation Co-ordinator at KICoB since February 2022, fostering a culture of wellness and team spirit among students and staff. From 2017 to 2019, he served as the Examination Co-ordinator for the Faculty of Business and Information Sciences (FBIS). Beyond the university, Dr. Odax contributes to public service as an interpreter at the High Court of Tanzania, Northern Zone, based in Moshi Municipality.
His research interests are diverse and multidisciplinary, encompassing Curriculum Design and Development, International and Comparative Education, Adult and Community Education, Co-operative Education, and Education Management, English Language Teaching Methods, Educational Foundations as well as Critical Thinking and Argumentation.
