Overview

Bachelor of Co-operative Management and Accounting (BCMA) is a three year degree program full time and evening mode. It is designed to enable graduate to understand that Co-operative is a business like other business organizations and a hub for human development. The program prepares the graduate to work in different carrier employment like Co-operatives, Banking, and Government and Non Government institutions. The program focuses on the different strategies, procedures, management of Co-operative and Business organization. It equips a graduate with knowledge in Business management, Co-operative Management, Microfinance management, accounting and finance aspect of the business. Graduate can be employed as Co-operative Managers, Business Managers, Accountants, finance officers, Projects officer and financial analysts. The programme further offers opportunities in self employment as consultants, trainers and researchers in different areas of Co-operative and Business management and Accounting.

Direct Entry Requirements

NQF Level 5 Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education

At least two Principal Passes with a minimum total of 4 points, drawn from any two of the following subjects:

Accountancy, Commerce, Economics, Advanced Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Agriculture, Geography, Nutrition.

Diploma / Equivalent Qualifications

A relevant diploma (e.g. in Co-operative Management and Accounting, Microfinance, Banking & Finance, Public Sector Finance, Taxation, Business Admin, etc.) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (B‑average), or Distinction for unclassified diplomas.

Alternatively, a Foundation Certificate from the Open University of Tanzania (OUT) with at least GPA 3.0.

Additionally, diploma holders must have at least four O‑Level passes including English and Mathematics.

English requirements
