KICoB Staff Participate in International Workers’ Day Celebrations in Shinyanga
Staff members from the Kizumbi Institute of Co-operative and Business Education (KICoB) actively participated in the International Workers’ Day (Mei Mosi) celebrations held on May 1st, 2025, at Kambarage Grounds in Shinyanga Municipality. The event brought together government officials, trade unions, and representatives from various public and private institutions under the national theme: “General Election 2025: Let It Bring Us Leaders Who Value Workers’ Rights and Welfare Let Us All Participate.”
The Regional Commissioner for Shinyanga, Hon. Anamringi Macha, emphasized the importance of employers allowing workers to participate in the day’s celebrations, stating that it is their right and a vital step toward strengthening unity and morale in the workplace. He commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her continued efforts in improving workers’ welfare, including the timely promotion of civil servants and the settlement of salary arrears.
KICoB staff demonstrated solidarity by joining peaceful processions and engaging in various community activities organized throughout the Workers’ Week. Their participation reflected the institution’s commitment to supporting labor rights and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders across the region.
The celebration also provided a platform for workers to voice their concerns and present recommendations to government leaders and employers, particularly on improving working conditions and safeguarding workers’ rights. KICoB remains proud of its staff’s contribution to national and community initiatives, in line with its mission to promote social and economic development through education and cooperation.
