UVCCM Chairperson Visits KICoB’s New Academic Complex and Hostel in Shinyanga

Today, the Chairperson of Umoja wa Vijana wa Chama Cha Mapinduzi (UVCCM) paid a significant visit to the Kizumbi Institute of Co-operative and Business Education (KICoB) in Shinyanga. The visit focused on inspecting the ongoing construction of a new academic complex and student hostel, projects funded under the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) initiative.
The UVCCM Chairperson was warmly received by KICoB’s acting director, along with other senior officials from Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU). During the tour, the chairperson commended the progress of the construction and emphasized the importance of such infrastructure in enhancing educational opportunities for Tanzanian youth.
The new academic complex is set to include modern lecture halls, a multimedia studio, and administrative offices, while the student hostel will accommodate over 250 students, significantly increasing the institute’s capacity. These developments align with the HEET project’s objectives to improve higher education infrastructure and promote economic growth through skilled human capital.
In discussions with KICoB officials, the UVCCM Chairperson highlighted the role of youth in national development and the necessity of providing them with quality education and facilities. The Chairperson also reiterated UVCCM’s commitment to supporting initiatives that empower young people and prepare them for the job market.
This visit underscores the collaborative efforts between educational institutions and UVCCM to foster an environment conducive to learning and innovation. The completion of these projects is anticipated to have a lasting impact on the region’s educational landscape and economic development.
