KICoB Students Engage in Field Learning at Kishapu AMCOS to Bridge Theory and Practice

Shinyanga, Tanzania – Pictured are undergraduate students from the Kizumbi Institute of Cooperative and Business Education (KICoB), pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Cooperative and Accounting Studies, alongside KICoB lecturers Dr. Gracian and Mr. Mwela, and the leadership team of Kishapu AMCOS, located in Kishapu District, Shinyanga Region. The AMCOS Secretary (seated third from the left) led the cooperative team during the engagement.
The gathering aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the real-world operations of cooperative societies, focusing on planning, development strategies, and the challenges these organizations face. The learning experience centered around the management of key cash crops in the region—cotton and pigeon peas (choroko)—and how they are handled within the AMCOS framework.
Organized by Dr. Gracian, the field visit is part of KICoB’s commitment to experiential learning, helping students bridge the gap between classroom theory and practical cooperative management. This initiative forms a crucial element of capacity-building efforts to prepare students for effective participation in Tanzania’s cooperative and agribusiness sectors.
